To avoid carrier charges against your cellular data plan when syncing large notebooks in Microsoft OneNote, you can turn off the cellular data option. This ensures that OneNote syncs only whenever you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network.

iPad

If you have an iPad supporting Wi-Fi + Cellular, do the following:

  1. On your iPad, tap the Settings app on your home screen, and then tap Cellular Data.

  2. On the Cellular Data screen, scroll down to the Cellular Data heading, find OneNote in the list, and then tap to turn off the switch next to it.

OneNote will now sync only when your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi.

Note: Cellular settings are not available on “Wi-Fi only” iPad models. To find out what type of iPad you have, see Identify your iPad model.

iPhone

Do the following:

  1. On your iPhone, tap the Settings app on your home screen, and then tap Cellular.

  2. On the Cellular screen, flick down to the Cellular Data heading, find OneNote in the list, and then tap to turn off the switch next to it.

OneNote will now sync only when your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi.
