Graphic file types

Microsoft Picture Manager allows you to manage your pictures, including viewing, editing, and copmressing the files.

Note: Picture Manager is not supported in Office 2013 and later versions.

The following table lists file types and what you can do with them.

File type

What you can do

JPEG

View, edit, and compress the files.

WMF/EMF

View and compress the files. You can also save the file to a format that Picture Manager lets you edit.

TIFF

BMP

Note: With non-graphic file types and unsupported graphic file types you will have limited choices. You can view a list of these files, but you cannot view or edit their content in Picture Manager.
