Get started with a project site

If you are working on a project, you might find a project site to be useful for planning out the work that needs to be done, collaborating with project teammates, and collecting project files and documents.

Create a project site.    To start using a project site, you’ll have to create one!

Start planning your project.    With a project site in place, now you can start using it to plan and manage your project. Start by adding tasks to your project and adding people to the project team. You can also add a column to a task list, if the default task fields don’t meet your needs and you want to capture information that is specific to your project.

Work on your project.    As you are working on your project, there are several different things you can do:

Share your project with others.    After your project site is set up and you have started using it, you may decide you want to share your project information with others. You can set up who can view and change your project site, and you can also view tasks and events in the Project Summary web part.
