Get help or support for Office 365

There are several ways that you, as the admin, can get help and support with Office 365. On the Office 365 admin page, you can open an assistance panel for admins that provides instant access to articles, videos, and an online community of experts. You can also go to a support page with links to top issues, service requests and a phone number for live support.

Quick steps

Note   These steps apply to Office 365 Small Business, which is no longer available for purchase. If you're using a different Office 365 plan, see Contact support for technical, presales, billing, and subscription issues.

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.

  2. In Office 365, select Admin. Or, select the app launcher Office 365 app launcher icon, and then select Admin.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • To open the assistance panel for admins, tap or click anywhere in the right-hand margin.
      Click in the right-hand margin to show or hide the Assistance panel

    • To see top issues, start service requests, and find other online support, select Get help and online support.

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.

  2. In Office 365, select Admin. Or, select the app launcher Office 365 app launcher icon, and then select Admin.

  3. Select Get help and online support.

  4. Select New service request.

  5. On the new service request page, select Contact Support.

You can also Contact Office 365 for business support.

How do I find other topics in the assistance panel?

If you don’t see the topic you’re looking for in the assistance panel, you can search for something else by typing in the Search box.

What if I don’t see the topic I’m looking for in the Assistance panel?

If your search isn’t finding the topic you’re looking for, you might try your question with the online community. In the Assistance panel, select Ask your question and then type in your question.

If other people asked similar questions, you’ll see a list of related topics.

What if no one in the online community has asked my question?

Sometimes you’ll have a question that no one else has asked yet. In this case, you can ask the community a new question. In the Assistance panel, select Ask your question and type in your question. If there are no existing questions that match your query, you’ll see an Add your question button.

What if I’m not sure about what I’m looking for?

Sometimes you might be unfamiliar with terminology or not exactly sure what task you need to perform. In this case you might try the troubleshooting tool:

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.

  2. In Office 365, select Admin. Or, select the app launcher Office 365 app launcher icon, and then select Admin.

  3. Go to Get help and online support > Try the troubleshooting tool.

How do I see help topics for other areas of Office 365?

To open context-sensitive help for other areas of Office 365, such as Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive for Business, or Sites, select the Office 365 page you want, and then select the Help icon.
