Excel 2016 for Mac 64-bit crashes when trying to retrieve data from ODBC databases

When retrieving data via Data > Get External Data > From Database from an external database that uses a 32-Bit ODBC driver, Excel 2016 for Mac 64-bit (version 15.25 or later) crashes.

Status: Fixed

This is a known compatibility issue. Please visit these articles ODBC drivers that are compatible with Excel for Mac or Excel 2016 for Mac crashes when clicking from Database and install a driver that includes 64-bit support.
