Error code 30145-4 when installing Office

If you see error message 30145-4 when you try to install Office, an Online Repair may fix the problem. If that doesn’t work, use the Fix it tool to remove any previous installs of Office, and then restart the install.

Restart your computer

  1. Bookmark this article so you can easily return to it.

  2. Restart your computer.

  3. If you’re a home user, sign in to your account page and click Install.

    If you’re a business user, sign in to the Office 365 portal and click Install.

If restarting doesn’t fix the problem, run an Online Repair.

Run an Online Repair of Office

  1. Close the error message.

  2. Open Control Panel.

  3. Go to Programs and Features.

  4. In the list of installed programs, click the latest version of Office, and click Change.

  5. Click Online Repair, and then click Repair.

If the repair doesn’t work, the next step is to remove Office with the Fix it tool, and then install.

Remove and reinstall Office

  1. Click this Fix it.

  2. At the bottom of your browser screen, click Open.

    Click Open

  3. After the Fix it tool is done, install Office again:

    If you’re a home user, sign in to your account page and click Install.

    If you’re a business user, sign in to the Office 365 portal and click Install.

If the Fix it doesn’t completely remove Office from your PC, you can remove Office manually.
