Error code 30094-4 when installing Office

If you see this error when you try to install Office, here are some things you can try to fix the problem. We’ve listed the most common solutions first, so try them in order.

Error code 30094-4 installing Office

1 - Delete your temporary files

  1. Use Disk Cleanup to delete your temporary files:

  2. After Disk Cleanup finishes, start the Office install again:

    If you’re a home user, sign in to your My Account page and choose Install.

    If you’re a business user, sign in to the Office 365 portal and choose Install.

2 - Repair Office

  1. Go to Control Panel.

    In Windows 10
    • Right-click the Start button Windows Start button in Windows 8 and Windows 10 (lower-left corner), and choose Control Panel.

    In Windows 7 or Vista
    • Click Start > Control Panel.

  2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. Click the Office product you want to repair, and then click Change.

    Note   If you bought a suite like Microsoft Office 365 Home or Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013, search for the suite name. If you bought an individual Office application like Microsoft Word, search for the application name.

  4. In Office 2013 and Office 2016, click Online Repair > Repair.

3 - Remove and reinstall Office

  2. When prompted by your browser, choose Open.

    Note   If the file doesn’t open, choose Save > Open Folder, then double-click the file (it should start with "O15CTRRemove") to run the easy fix tool.

  3. After the easy fix tool is done, install Office again. Use the table below to find the correct sign in location for your version of Office.

    If you have this Office product

    Sign in to install Office

    An Office 365 subscription, such as:

    • Office 365 Home

    • Office 365 Personal

    • Office 365 University

    A one-time purchase of Office 2016 or Office 2013 such as:

    • Office Home & Student

    • Office Home & Business

    • Office Professional

    • Individual 2016 or 2013 applications such as Word, Excel, or Project

    1. Go to http://www.office.com/myaccount.

      If prompted, sign in with the email address and password associated with your copy of Office.

    2. Select Install.

    Office 365 for business subscriptions that include the desktop Office applications

    1. Go to https://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx.

      If prompted, sign in with the email address and password that you created or someone in your organization created on your behalf.

    2. Select Install.

    Tip   For complete installation steps, see Download and install Office using Office 365 for business on your PC.

    Note   If you're having trouble signing in, check that you're using the correct email and password. If you still can't sign in you may be using a different Office 365 service and have a different sign in location, see Where to sign in to Office 365.
