Before a user in a business role can access any data in PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel, a Data Administrator or a Modeler must explicitly grant access to the model that contains the data by configuring model access for the business role in PerformancePoint Planning Business Modeler.
As a security precaution, Planning Business Modeler does not automatically allow a user who is in a business role to access data from any model, even if the role has been given access to the member sets in a model.
Important: You must be a Data Administrator or a Modeler to enable access to data that is in a model.
To enable access to a model for a business user:
In the Workspace Browser pane, select Security and Roles.
In Security and Roles workspace, select Business Roles Only from the View menu.
In the list of roles, click the role whose permissions you want to change. A workspace for that role opens.
On the Summary page for the role, the Models section lists all models in the model site. By default, Planning Business Modeler configures model access to Off.
In the list of models, locate the name of the model that you want the business user role to access.
Click the field in the Access column next to the model name, and then select On from the list.
On the File menu, click Save Model Site to save your changes to Planning Server.
