Disable online banking

If you have set up an account for online banking in Microsoft Office Accounting, you can disable the online setup.

When you disable banking for an account, Office Accounting deletes all unmatched transactions that have been downloaded. Even though you can change the mapping of an account to another bank, we recommend that you create a new account to maintain control of the transactions.

One-way banking (Web connect)

You can disable a one-way online account setup in two ways.

Delete the bank name from the account form.

  1. On the Company menu, point to Company Lists, and then click Chart of Accounts.

  2. Right-click a bank or credit card account, and then click Open Selected Items.

  3. In the Bank name field, remove the bank name.

  4. Click Save and Close.

Use the Set Up Online Banking wizard to map the account to a different bank.

  1. On the Banking menu, point to Bank Online, and then click Set Up Online Banking.

  2. On the Select a Financial Institution for Online Services page, select a different bank.

  3. On the Match online accounts to Office Accounting page, under Office Accounting account, select the account.

  4. Click either Download or Finish.

Two-way banking (direct connect)

If an account is set up for two-way banking, you must go through the Set Up Online Banking wizard to remove the mapping.

  1. On the Banking menu, point to Bank Online, and then click Set Up Online Banking.

  2. On the Match Microsoft Office Accounting Accounts with Online Accounts page where you previously mapped the account to an online account, select the Do not set up this account check box.

  3. On the Setup Overview page, click Cancel.
