Deleting report library items in Management Reporter

If you have delete permissions, you can delete report library items: reports, reporting trees, folders, and external files. Remember, however, that Delete, Edit, and Create permissions can be specific to a report or folder. For example, you might have delete permissions for a specific report or a specific folder in the report library, but not for other reports or folders.

Deleting works differently for different report library items. The following list explains how the Delete function works with each item:

  • Report

A report can have many versions. When you delete a report, Microsoft Office PerformancePoint 2007 Management Reporter prompts you to delete the current version or all versions. If you want to pick from a list of versions, click View Versions on the View menu. For more information, see Viewing/Renaming/Deleting Different Versions of a Report.

  • External File: When you delete an external file, Management Reporter prompts you to confirm the deletion. External files do not have versions.

  • Folder: When you delete a folder, Management Reporter displays a message asking you to confirm the deletion. If you click Yes, Management Reporter deletes the folder and all of its reports and external files.

Given below is the procedure to delete report library items:

  1. In the navigation pane, click Report Library.

  2. Click an item, and then press DELETE.

Note: Press CTRL, and then click to select more than one item.

  3. If you are deleting one or more reports, Management Reporter prompts you to delete all versions or the most recent version.

  4. If you are deleting reports in addition to folders or external files, Management Reporter prompts you to delete all versions or the most recent version. This message pertains only to reports.

  5. If you want to pick from a list of versions, click Cancel and use the View Versions feature.
