Delete a connected account from Outlook on the web

You can connect email accounts that you may have with other email providers to Outlook on the web. It's a convenient way to see all your email in one place. If you no longer want to have another email account connected to Outlook on the web, you can delete the account connection from Outlook on the web. You are only deleting the connection between the other account and Outlook on the web, not the email account or the email messages.

What happens to my existing email when I remove the connection? Any email messages that were imported into Outlook on the web will still be there after you disconnect the email account.

Before you disconnect an email account from Outlook on the web, we recommend signing in to the original email provider associated with that account and making sure copies of your email messages are there. If they are there, after you remove your account you can delete all of that account's email messages from Outlook on the web and you'll still have a copy of them at your email provider. If they aren't there, after you remove the account, you might want to store your email messages in a folder in Outlook on the web instead of deleting them.

  1. Sign in to Outlook on the web.

  2. On the Outlook navigation bar, select Settings Settings: update your profile, install software and connect it to the cloud .

  3. Under Your app settings, select Mail.

  4. In the left pane, click Mail, and under Accounts, click Connected accounts.

  5. Select the account you want to remove, and then click Remove discard .

  6. Click Yes to confirm that you want to stop connecting to the account.

  7. After you remove the account from Outlook on the web, you can delete any email messages that still appear in Outlook.
