Crop inserted pictures in OneNote 2016 for Mac

Sometimes you may want to edit pictures you already have added to your notes in OneNote. One way to edit the pictures is to crop them. With cropping, you can remove unnecessary parts of a picture, or resize it to make it fit better. When editing the pictures in OneNote, the Photos app on your Mac is a handy helper.

  1. If you don’t have the pictured saved yet, in OneNote, control-click the picture, click Save As and save it.

  2. Open the Photos app. On the menu bar, click File > Import.

  3. Find and select the picture, and click Review for Import.

  4. After importing, double-click the image, and click Edit in the top right corner of the window.

  5. In the tools menu, Click Crop.

  6. Use the cropping tools to edit the picture. When finished, click Done .

  7. In OneNote, click where you want the picture to appear, and in the Insert tab, click Picture.

  8. In the Photos folder, select the picture, and click Insert.

Tip: Add the OneNote extension to the Share menu, so you can share the edited pictures directly to OneNote. To learn how to customize your Share menu, see the Customize the Share menu section in this article.
