Creating new files in a Files tool

You can create a new file if you have the application that supports the file type installed on your computer. For example, to create a new Microsoft Word file, you must have Word installed. To create a new file:

  1. Select the folder in which you would like to create the new file.

  2. On the Home tab, click New and then click the type of file you want to create.

The new file appears in the selected folder.
