Create and edit with OneDrive

Create files and save them to OneDrive, so you can edit them from anywhere.

Create a file or folder

  1. Select New and then select Folder or the type of file you want to create.

  2. To rename the file, click the file name on the title bar, type a new name, and press Enter.

  3. When you’re done, click your name on the title bar to go back to OneDrive.

Upload a file or folder

  • In OneDrive, select Upload.

  • In File Explorer, select the files and drag them to OneDrive.

    Note: To upload a folder, use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. In other browsers, first create a folder, then select and upload the files you want.

Your browser does not support video. Install Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flash Player, or Internet Explorer 9.

Search for files

  1. Type a word or phrase in the Search box.

  2. Select a file, or press Enter.

Edit a file

  • Click the file name.

  • Or, right-click the file, select Open, and then select Open in <App name>.

    Changes are saved automatically in the Online apps.
