Create a sample column definition in Management Reporter

In this procedure, you will create a column definition for the report.

The following table shows the completed sample column definition. Use this table as a reference while you are working on the procedure in this section.

Create the sample column definition

  1. On the File menu, click New, and then click Column Definition.

  2. In the Header 1 row of the new column definition, double-click the column B cell.

  3. In the Column Header dialog box, click Insert AutoText, click Month name, and then click OK.

  4. In the Header 1 row, click the column C cell, and then type YTD.

  5. In the Column Type row, double-click the column A cell, and then click DESC.

    This code inserts your row definition descriptions into this column.

  6. In the Column Type row, double-click the column B cell, and then click FD.

    Microsoft Office PerformancePoint 2007 Management Reporter inserts the following default values:

    • Scenario / Attribute Category: ACTUAL

    • Fiscal Year: BASE

    • Period: BASE

    • Time Range: PERIODIC

    • Column Width: 14

  7. In the Column Type row, double-click the column C cell, and then click FD.

  8. In the Column Width row, click the column A cell, and then type 40.

    This code makes the column 40 characters wide.

  9. In the Time Range row, double-click the cell in column C, and then select YTD.

  10. On the File menu, click Save, and then do the following:

    • In the Name box, type a unique name for the new column definition.

    • In the Description box, type a description for the column definition.
