More options and some things to be aware of:
-
Don’t worry if your DNS hosting provider isn’t listed — you can follow the general instructions for creating DNS records for Office 365.
-
Or, if you host your own DNS records, use the instructions for Windows-based DNS.
-
If you don’t know the DNS hosting provider or domain registrar for your domain, see Find your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider.
-
Some DNS hosting providers don’t let you create all the required record types, which causes service limitations. If your provider doesn’t support SRV, TXT, or CNAME records, we recommend that you transfer your domain to a provider that supports all required record types.
-
To see which DNS records are required and find the values to use for each record, including the MX record for email, see Gather the information you need to create Office 365 DNS records. For descriptions of what the DNS records do, see Understand DNS record types.
-
If you have existing user accounts in an on-premises directory, you may want to manage your Office 365 users with your on-premises account management tools. For example, if you want to manage your accounts on-premises and have them synchronize with Office 365, or if you want to set up a hybrid email environment to keep a mix of on-premises mail users and Office 365 mail users. Learn more about setting up integrated accounts.
-
There are also instructions for DNS hosting providers in some other locales. To see if your locale has additional step-by-step instructions available, see Creating DNS records at additional domain registrars in other locales.
-
For instructions about how to make sure that destination email systems trust messages sent from your domain, see Customize an SPF record to validate outbound email sent from your domain.
