The Cost1-10 fields can store any custom task, resource, or assignment cost information you want. The default cost is $0.

There are three categories of Cost1-10 fields.

Data Type    Currency

Cost1-10 (task field)

Entry Type    Calculated or entered

Best Uses    Add one of the custom cost fields to a task sheet whenever you want to add custom currency data to task information.

Example    You want to track high and low estimated task costs in your project. You can enter the highest estimated cost for a task in the Cost1 field and the lowest estimated cost in the Cost2 field. You can then rename the Cost1 field to "High Est. Cost" and the Cost2 field to "Low Est. Cost."

Remarks    You can create value lists, formulas, and graphical indicators for any of the custom cost fields. Add one of these custom attributes or rename a custom cost field in the Custom Fields dialog box. Specifying a formula causes the field to become read-only.

You can copy the custom fields you create, including their custom attributes, to other project files. Open the Organizer dialog box and then click the Fields tab.

Cost1-10 (resource field)

Entry Type    Calculated or entered

Best Uses    Add one of the custom cost fields to a resource sheet whenever you want to add custom currency data to resource information.
