Configure Lync presence [Small Business]

The Lync presence setting for Lync Online gives people more control over who can see whether they are available, in a meeting, or out of the office. For details about Lync presence and privacy settings, see Control access to your presence information in Lync.

Choose the default presence setting for everyone in your organization

  1. Go to Admin > Service Settings > Instant messaging, meetings and conferencing.

  2. Under Lync presence, click the setting you want.

Setting

Who can view a user’s presence

Everyone in your company

Any Lync user who does not belong to the External or Blocked privacy group.

Only people on the user’s Contacts list

Anyone in a user’s Contacts list who does not belong to the External or Blocked privacy group.

Individual users can change this setting in the Lync Options dialog box
