Company details (QuickBooks): options and information

You must enter your company contact information so Microsoft Office Accounting can include it in company reports, purchase orders, sales orders, and other documents. Office Accounting automatically enters the company name and information associated with the QuickBooks data file you are migrating. If you like, you can change this information.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issues a nine-digit federal tax ID number (also called an employer identification number, or EIN) to corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietors that employ one or more individuals. If you do not have or know your company's federal tax ID number, and you are a sole proprietor who does not employ or pay wages to any employee and does not file pension and excise tax returns, you can enter your social security number in the Federal tax ID box.

In the Legal name box, type the name of your company as it appears on your federal income tax return or on your application for a federal employer identification number.
