Change the author name for review comments

Any time you review a Word document, you can insert and delete comments. You also can change the name or initials that appear in the comment balloons (or in square brackets when the balloons aren't being used for comments).

Add a new user name and initials

  1. On the Review tab, in the Tracking group, click the Tracking dialog box launcher.

  2. In the Change Tracking Options dialog box, click Change User Name.

  3. In the Word Options window, choose General.

  4. Under Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, do the following:

    • In the User name box, type the name you want to use.

    • In the Initials box, type the initials you want to use.

  5. Click OK.

  2. In the Word Options window, click General.

  3. Under Personalize your copy of Office, do the following:

    • In the User name box, type the name you want to use.

    • In the Initials box, type the initials you want to use.

  4. Click OK.

  2. In the Word Options window, click Popular.

  3. Under Personalize your copy of Office, do the following:

    • In the User name box, type the name you want to use.

    • In the Initials box, type the initials you want to use.

  4. Click OK.
