Change or remove borders from text boxes or shapes

Do any of the following:

Change a text box or shape border

  1. Select the text box or shape whose border to want to modify.

  2. On the Format tab, under Shape Styles, click the arrow next to Line.

  3. Do any of the following:

Change the color of the border

Either click the color that you want, or mix your own color by clicking More Colors.

Change the thickness of the border

Point to Weights, and then click the line weight that you want.

Change the style of the border

Point to Dashed, and then click the line style that you want.

Remove a text box or shape border

  1. Select the text box or shape whose border to want to modify.

  2. On the Format tab, under Shape Styles, click the arrow next to Line and then click No Line.
