Change, delete, or hide the footer on your slides

To change, delete, or hide the information that appears at the bottom of your slides, follow the steps in this article.

Note: The changes you make won't affect footers on notes pages or handouts—just slides. To change those, see Change the header on notes and handouts.

Change the content in the footer

  1. Select the slide with the footer you want to change.

  2. On the Insert tab, pick Header & Footer.

  3. In the Header & Footer box, on the Slide tab, check the Footer box, and change the text in the Footer box.

    Tip: You can also pick other options to change, such as slide numbers or the date and time here.

  4. Pick either Apply (only this slide) or Apply to All (all slides).

Tip: To hide the footer in the title slide, check the Don't show on title slide box.

Hide or delete the content in the footer

  1. Select the slide with the footer you want to delete.

  2. On the Insert tab, pick Header & Footer.

  3. In the Header & Footer box, on the Slide tab, do one of the following:

    • To hide specific content in the footer, uncheck the boxes next to the options (Date and time, Slide number, and Footer) that you don't want to appear on your slides.

    • To delete the footer, clear the text from the Footer box.

  4. Pick either Apply (only to this slide) or Apply to All (all slides).
