Can I delay or schedule the delivery of email messages in Outlook 2016 for Mac?

Updated: July 2017

Yes! Here's how.

  1. Compose your email message and include one or more recipient names on the To: line.

  2. Select the arrow next to the Send button.

  3. Select Send Later.

Select the arrow next to the Send button to delay sending your email

  4. Enter a time and date.

  5. Select Send. The message will be saved in the Drafts folder until the specified date and time. It will be sent regardless of Outlook being open on your computer.

Cancel a message scheduled to be sent later

  1. In the Drafts folder, open the email message.

  2. Select Cancel Send.

Open the message and click Cancel Send

  3. Select Yes to confirm. The message remains open so you can send it right away or delay it until another time.

System requirements

To use Send Later you need to have an Office 365 subscription and an Exchange-based email account. An Exchange-based account could be Exchange 2016 CU5 and later, Office 365, or a migrated Outlook.com account. You'll find Send Later in Outlook update 15.35.170509 and later.
