CSCH function

This article describes the formula syntax and usage of the CSCH function in Microsoft Excel.


Return the hyperbolic cosecant of an angle specified in radians.



The CSCH function syntax has the following arguments.

  • Number    Required.


  • The absolute value of Number must be less than 2^27.

  • If Number is outside its constraints, CSCH returns the #NUM! error value.

  • If Number is a non-numeric value, CSCH returns the #VALUE! error value.


Copy the example data in the following table, and paste it in cell A1 of a new Excel worksheet. For formulas to show results, select them, press F2, and then press Enter. If you need to, you can adjust the column widths to see all the data.





Returns the hyperbolic cosecant of 1.5 (0.4696).
