Office 365 apps are infused with artificial intelligence (AI) to help you do your best work. The Ideas pane uses AI to create smart, actionable suggestions that save you time and enhance your content.
This feature is available to Office Insiders only right now.
How do I use Ideas?
Note: This feature is being made available to customers on a gradual basis over several days or weeks. It will first be available in English, French, Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese to Office Insider participants on Windows and Mac, and later to Office 365 subscribers. If you are an Office 365 subscriber, make sure you have the latest version of Office.
Ideas in Excel lets you see trends in data and get pre-made charts based on the data in your workbook.
Simply select the Ideas button on the Home tab of the ribbon and the Ideas pane opens on the right side of the window to suggest pre-made charts and PivotTables that you may find useful in analyzing or presenting your data.
What does Ideas have to offer?
Ideas can give you four kinds of insight about your data:
Rank: Ranks and highlights the item that is significantly larger than the rest of the items so you can quickly spot outliers.
Trend: Identifies when there is a steady trend over a time series of data.
Outlier: Identifies data values that fall noticeably outside any of the other clusters of data points.
Majority: Finds cases where a majority of the total value can be attributed to a single factor.

In PowerPoint for the web, Ideas offers you a curated set of suggestions to enrich content, enhance design, and polish the writing in your slides.
Note: In PowerPoint, Ideas is a "preview" feature that's currently available only in the Online version, and it's being rolled out gradually. It will first be available only in English to Targeted Release participants.
Simply select the Ideas button on the Home tab of the ribbon and the Ideas pane opens on the right side of the window to give you design and content suggestions.
Check for consistency: Identifies inconsistencies in your wording, such as when you've accidentally used both "website" and "web site" or if you've used a period at the end of some list items but not others. For more information, see Suggested writing refinements in PowerPoint for the web.
Style your slide: Offers suggestions for creating more compelling slide layouts and visuals, such as SmartArt graphics. Ideas can turn written lists (such as timelines or procedures) into expressive graphics. For more information, see Create professional slide layouts.
Search for pictures: Suggests Bing image searches to find relevant pictures for your presentation.
Search Bing: Lets you quickly search online for content to add to your slides.
