Bookmark points of interest in a video or audio clip

You can add bookmarks to indicate points of interest in a video or audio clip, and help you find them quickly later. Additionally, you can use bookmarks as a way to trigger animations or to jump to a specific location in a video.

Add a bookmark

  1. Insert a video or audio clip to a slide.

  2. In the audio or video controls below the audio or video clip, press play (arrow on the far left of the control panel).

  3. When you come to a moment you want to bookmark pause the audio or video clip and then do one of the following:

    • If you are working with a video clip, under Video Tools, on the Playback tab, in the Bookmarks group, click Add Bookmark.

      The image below shows an example of a bookmark that we added to indicate the time where the hiker has entered the video.

    • If you are working with an audio clip, under Audio Tools, on the Playback tab, in the Bookmarks group, click Add Bookmark.

  4. To shorten your clip, see Trim a video or Trim a sound clip.

Remove a bookmark

  1. In the video or audio control time line, locate and click the bookmark that you want to remove.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • If you are working with a video clip, under Video Tools, on the Playback tab, in the Bookmarks group, click Remove Bookmark.

    • If you are working with an audio clip, under Audio Tools, on the Playback tab, in the Bookmarks group, click Remove Bookmark.
