Add text to a page

It is easy to add text that is independent of any shapes.

  1. On the Insert menu, click Text Box.

Tip: You can also click the Text tool Text tool button on the Standard toolbar. If you don't see the Text tool Text tool button , click the arrow next to the Text Block tool Button image , and then click Text Tool.

  2. Click anywhere on the page, or click and drag until the text block is the size that you want.

  3. Type your text. Visio zooms in on the text.

Tip: To stop Visio from zooming in on your text, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab. Under Drawing window options, in the Automatically zoom text when editing under box, enter 0 (zero) for the point size.

  4. Click a blank area on the page.

  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for all the text that you want to add.

  6. Click the Pointer tool Pointer button on the Standard toolbar to return to normal editing.
