Add speaker notes to your PowerPoint Online presentation using a screen reader

Using only your keyboard and screen reader, you can add speaker notes to your presentation. The steps you take to do this depend on whether the Notes Pane is open.

Note: If the Notes Pane is already open, skip down to Go to the open Notes Pane.

Open the Notes Pane and add your notes

  1. In PowerPoint Online, press Ctrl+F6 until you get to Help Improve Office on the Status Bar, and then press Tab to go to the Notes button.

    Note: Use keyboard shortcuts to loop through task panes in PowerPoint Online.

  2. Press Enter to go to the Notes Pane.

  3. In the Notes Pane, press Enter to activate the pane, and then type your speaker notes.

  4. Press F2 to save your notes.

Go to the open Notes Pane to add your notes

  1. In PowerPoint Online, press Ctrl+F6 until you get to the open Notes Pane.

  2. Press Enter and type your speaker notes.

  3. Press F2 to save your notes.
