Add a vCard to your contacts

A vCard  is a virtual business card that you can share with other people as you would a paper business card. If you receive a vCard attached to an e-mail message, you can save the vCard as a contact.

  1. Open the message that contains the vCard attachment. vCards always have the .vcf file name extension.

  2. Double-click the attachment.

The vCard opens in a contact window.

  3. On the Contact tab, click Save & Close.

    Contact tab, Save & Close

Tip: If the vCard is saved on your computer (for example, on your Desktop) instead of attached to a message, you can also double-click it to open it. If the vCard does not open in Outlook, hold down CONTROL , click the file, point to Open With, and then click Microsoft Outlook.
