Add MakeCode activities to assignments in Microsoft Teams

You can create engaging assignments around computer science for your students using MakeCode resources in Microsoft Teams Assignments. With MakeCode as an attachable resource, students can explore and build relevant computing skills.

Note: IT Admins need to enable MakeCode as a resource in the Teams and Skype for Business Admin Center

  1. Create a new assignment in Microsoft Teams by navigating to your class > General channel > Assignments tab > Create.

  2. Add your assignment details, then select Add Resources.

  3. Select the MakeCode tab, then choose a file type.

  4. Add a file name for your MakeCode resource, then select Attach

  5. Select Assignto distribute the assignment to students. Once students turn in the assignment, you can view and grade their coding activity right in Teams:
