To use Microsoft Office PerformancePoint 2007 Management Reporter, you must provide information that is specific to your individual financial data entity or entities.
An entity definition includes the following settings:
The entity name is a unique name that describes the entity. This name can be the same name (or entity key) that is used in the source system.
The entity name can be 1-16 characters and cannot include any of the following symbols:
" | / \ : ? * < >
The entity description is the text that you want to appear on reports.
The entity description can be 0-255 characters.
The source system specifies the financial data that is associated with the entity.
Building Block Group
A building block group is a collection of row definitions, column definition, reporting tree definitions, account sets, and report definitions. Each Management Reporter entity can have its own building block group, or several Management Reporter entities can share a building block group. For information about creating building block groups, see Creating a Building Block Group.
The regional value identifies the region and currency symbol that is used to display the entity's amounts. The currency symbol is the default symbol for the entity and is used for every amount unless a row or column definition overrides the symbol for an amount.
The period description appears in the headers of reports that cover a single reporting period. For example, if you enter "Month Ending" in the Period description box, the report header for January 2004 would be For the Month Ending January 31, 2004.
If you enter the description in uppercase, the entire date line is capitalized in the report.
Period Description (Plural)
The plural period description appears in the headers of reports that cover multiple reporting periods. For example, if you enter "Months Ending" in the Period description (plural) box, the report header for March 2004 would be For the Three Months Ending March 31, 2004.
