Name

Choose a data source if you have already created one.

Create

To make a new data source, click Create. Follow the Create New Data Source wizard. After you click Finish, the ODBC Setup dialog appears. From there you can either select an existing database or create a new one. You will make the table in the database later.

If you're using Microsoft Office Excel as a data source, you can select an existing workbook, but you can't create one from the wizard.

If you choose an Excel workbook, be sure to uncheck the Read Only check box in the Select Workbook dialog box.

Browse

If you have a data source stored somewhere other than the default location, click Browse to locate the file.

Qualifier

Choose the database with the table you want to link to. This option is only available for database programs, such as Microsoft SQL Server, where connecting to a data source gives you access to multiple databases.

Owner

Choose All Users or the name of a database creator. Choosing a specific creator limits the number of tables displayed in the Table/View list. This option is only available for database programs such as Microsoft SQL Server that let you specify an object creator.

Table/View

Choose the table you want to link to. Click New to add a new table to the database.

Field links

Shows how database fields are linked to ShapeSheet cells.

Field shows the database field.

Key shows whether this is part of the primary key.

Cell shows the ShapeSheet cell the field is linked to.

Evaluate as determines how data is evaluated when it is copied from the field to the cell.

Value shows the value for a field.

Add

Click to add an existing database field to the list.

Modify

Click to modify the link between the selected database field and a ShapeSheet cell.

Delete

Click to delete the selected database field from the list. You can't delete the last field in the list or the last key field.

Advanced

Opens the Advanced dialog box, where you can choose what database objects the drawing can link to, shortcut menu items for linked shapes, and on-drop events for the drawing.
