Entering a start date that is close to the finish of another task

You have changed the start date for this task so that it begins just as another task is finishing. This indicates that there may be a dependency between the tasks. If this task is dependent on another task's completion, you can link them. Linking the tasks allows the finish of the dependent task to drive the start of this task. By linking tasks, you can see later how changes in the start, finish, and duration of a task affect other dependent tasks.

Note: Go to Link tasks in a project for more information.

Using the Planning Wizard, you can:

Link the tasks creating a finish-to-start dependency.

Microsoft Project will link the tasks so that the later task will not begin until the earlier task finishes.

Move the task without adding a link.

Project will change the start date for the task, but will not link it to any other tasks.

If you don't want the Planning Wizard to display this information again, select the Don't tell me about this again check box.
