One of the benefits of using the Microsoft 365 Groups calendar is that the group is the owner of the calendar event. This comes in handy when you've scheduled a meeting, for example, and then have to be out of the office on the meeting day. Anyone in the group can move the meeting to another date and time, change the location, update the list of attendees, or cancel the meeting altogether.

But what if you want full control over the meeting so that you, the organizer, are the only one who can schedule it, update it, or cancel it? No problem. Here's how:

  1. Open your calendar (not the group calendar).

  2. Double-click the time at which you'll schedule the meeting or event.

  3. On the To line, enter the name of the group you want to invite.

  4. Enter a meeting subject, location, and any meeting details.

  5. Select Send.
