If you are designing a form template with both East Asian and Latin text, and you want to enhance the appearance of the form template by controlling the spaces between both types of text, you can configure your form template to automatically adjust the spaces between these two types of text. You can also configure the form template so that the line breaks for East Asian text occur at a normal width or half-width character for a specific line of text or for any line of text in forms based on your form template.

Before you begin

To configure text spacing and line breaks in form templates that contain East Asian and Latin text, you must install the Microsoft Office Language Pack 2007 for your East Asian language, which contains the dictionary and proofing tools for that language.

Configure Microsoft Office programs to use another language

To use an East Asian language in a Microsoft Office program, you first need to install a language pack, and then configure your Microsoft Office programs to accept and display East Asian text and to use the proofing tools for that language. This procedure assumes that you have already installed the appropriate language pack.

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.

  2. Click the Editing Languages tab.

  3. In the Available editing languages list, click the language that you want to use, and then click Add.

  4. In the Primary editing language list, click the primary language that you want to use when designing a form template.

Note: When a language is set as the primary editing language, you cannot remove that language from the Editing languages enabled list. To remove the primary editing language from that list, you must first select another language in the Primary editing language list.
