Moving a task so that it starts on a nonworking day

You have moved a task so that it starts on a nonworking day. If you begin or end a task on a nonworking day, Microsoft Project cannot schedule any work to be done on that task during that day. The task will not actually start until at least the next working day. In the Gantt chart, nonworking time is indicated by gray vertical bands by default.

Using the Planning Wizard, you can:

Move the task to the next working day

Project will move the task so that it starts on the next available working day.

Make the day a working day

Project will move the task to the specified day and change that day to a working day in the project calendar. The working hours for this day are from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. If your calendar uses different hours than these, you can change the hours for the new working day. On the Tools menu in the Project tab in Project 2016, 2013, or 2010, click Change Working Time.

Go to Set the general working days and times for a project for more information.

If you choose to make the day a working day, be sure to check the resource calendars of any resources assigned to the task. If the day is not a working day for your resources, no work will be done on the task by these resources.

If you don't want the Planning Wizard to display this information again, select the Don't tell me about this again check box.
