Use this tab to reduce the size of the selected image object through compression, by deleting cropped areas of the picture, or by changing the resolution.

Notes:

  • Once an image is compressed, it cannot be reverted to its original condition.

  • The resolution of an image can be decreased, but cannot be increased.

  • To see the effects of your selections on the image in your drawing before actually changing it, click Apply. You can then change your selections, or click Cancel to close the dialog box without changing the image.

Compression options

Compress pictures

Applies JPEG compression to the image, which can reduce the file size of a high-color picture, but might also result in loss of image quality. If cleared, no changes in the compression method are made.

Delete cropped areas of pictures

Reduces the image size by discarding cropped areas of the image.

Change resolution

Web/Screen

Changes output resolution to 96 dots per inch (dpi).

Print

Changes output resolution to 200 dots per inch (dpi).

Resolution

Displays the resolution in dots per inch (dpi). Higher resolution provides more detail but results in a larger file size.

No change

Retains the current image resolution. You can select other picture compression options to reduce the size of the image file.
