If your notes pages on slides are getting corrupted you can use this process to fix them.

Fix the Notes Master page size

  1. Go to File > Print > Printer Properties.

Note: Depending upon your print driver you might have to click Advanced to see the paper size setting.

  2. Change the paper size to anything other than Letter, then select OK.

  3. Repeat step 1 and change paper size back to Letter, then select OK.

  4. Go to View > Notes Master.

    It will probably look broken.

  5. Right click on an empty spot on the Notes Master to bring up the context menu, then select Notes Master Layout…

  6. In the dialog, uncheck everything, then select OK.

You should see an empty Notes Master.

  7. Repeat step 5 and check everything in the dialog, then select OK.

You should see the default Notes Master with the correct layout.

  8. Close Master View.

Your Master Notes page should be fixed, but the individual notes pages on your slides still might not have the right layout.

Fix notes page layout

Important: You'll need to repeat the following process on EACH notes page that doesn't have the right layout.

  1. Go to View > Notes Page.

  2. Right click on an empty spot on the notes page to bring up the context menu and select Notes Layout…

  3. Select Reapply master (leave Slide image and Body checked).

Caution: If you uncheck Body and select OK any notes you had on that slide will be lost. You can use Undo (CTRL+Z) to get them back; you may have to Undo a couple of times. This won't affect the layout fix.

  4. Select OK.

The notes page should be back to normal now.
