“Compile error in hidden module” error or a Create PDF button is disabled when using the Acrobat PDFMaker add-in in Word 2016 for Mac 64-bit

When using Acrobat PDFMaker add-in Word 2016 for Mac 64-bit (version 15.25 or later), you may experience one of the following:

  • Compile error in hidden module: link” error message when opening Word 2016 for Mac.

  • Create PDF icon is disabled or grayed out on the Acrobat tab
    "Create PDF" button is disabled in Acrobat PDFMaker add-in

Status: Fixed

Adobe released the latest version of the Acrobat PDFMaker. To download the latest version, visit PDFMaker support for 64-bit Office 2016 on Mac OS for updates to the add-in.
