Change the text size for incoming messages

You can change the text size of incoming messages for viewing in open message windows or in the reading pane.

  1. At the bottom of the navigation pane, click Mail  Mail view button.

  2. In the message list, select a message.

  3. On the Format menu, click Increase Font Size or Decrease Font Size.


    • The keyboard shortcut for increasing font size is COMMAND+ + . The keyboard shortcut for decreasing font size is COMMAND+ - .

    • This procedure also applies to sent messages and saved drafts.

    • When you set your default font preferences for Outlook, your selections apply to outgoing messages as well as incoming plain text message. However, incoming HTML message often have their own font style and font sizes applied to the text, so your default settings don't apply.
