Honey was Microsoft's provider for automatically finding and applying promo codes on shopping sites in Microsoft Edge for Android. Our agreement with Honey expired on November 23, 2020. Microsoft Edge no longer uses or retains any Honey-based data or services.

On November 23, 2020, Microsoft started rolling out an update that replaces the Honey coupon experience with a native coupon experience powered by Bing. This is the same coupon experience that's already used in Microsoft Edge for Windows desktop, MacOS, and iOS.

You can learn more about the Bing coupon feature here.

This change affects only users in the United States and has no impact on any other services.

To activate the Bing coupon feature in Microsoft Edge for Android:

  1. Tap the menu > Settings General Coupons.

  2. Turn on Coupons.

To see your recent tabs, you need to sync both devices to your Microsoft account and have syncing turned on. If the issue persists, go to the Troubleshooting section for information about how to send report a syncing issue.

Family group settings

A family group helps families stay connected and keeps kids safer on Windows, Xbox consoles, and Android devices running Microsoft Edge. It's free and it's one of the many benefits of having a Microsoft account.

With a family group on Microsoft Edge,

  • Information about your web browsing activity (such as the websites you visit, or search terms you use) may be sent to your parent to review on family.microsoft.com at any time, even if you clear your history. Your parent may also get a weekly email report of your online activity.

  • Inappropriate sites on your browser will be blocked. When you're signed into Microsoft Edge, Bing SafeSearch will be set to strict, and Microsoft blocks many sites automatically. Your parent can also choose to block or allow specific sites or choose to only allow you to visit sites they've said are OK.

You can send exception requests for sites you want to access. Your parent can respond to these requests through email or on family.microsoft.com.

  • InPrivate mode will be blocked. This is a feature to help protect you from viewing adult content on the web.

This is a family feature that helps make sure you don't accidentally view any inappropriate websites while browsing.

When you sign into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account, we automatically clear your old tabs, so the tabs you've opened are associated with your family group.

As part of Microsoft's family group feature, information about your web browsing activity (such as the websites you visit, or search terms you use) may be sent to your parent to review on family.microsoft.com at any time, even if you clear your history. We value your privacy so we only send search terms and web browsing info when activity reporting is turned on for your family group. Your parent may use activity reporting as a way to keep an eye on things and adjust your family settings accordingly.

Some of your school browsing information may be shared with your parent. It depends on how your family group has been set up, and whether your parent is an organizer in the family. To check whether your school browsing data is being shared, do the following:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top left corner.

  2. Look for a banner message that reads, Your browsing experience is managed by family settings. If you see it, your family settings are tied to your school account email and your data is being shared with your parents.

Privacy

Microsoft Edge has features that help you and your content stay safe online. We automatically block websites and content downloads that are reported to be malicious. Microsoft Edge checks the address of the webpage you're visiting against a list of webpage addresses stored on your device that Microsoft believes to be legitimate. Addresses that aren't on your device’s list and the addresses of files you're downloading will be sent to Microsoft and checked against a frequently updated list of webpages and downloads that have been reported to Microsoft as unsafe or suspicious.
