Work in Word

With Word Online, you can create, share, and collaborate on documents in your Internet browser. If you need more Word features, open the Word desktop version and see the Word Quick Start.

Add and format text

  1. Place the cursor where you want in your document, and type some text.

  2. On the Home tab, select an option:

    • Font - font, font size, bold, italics, underline, and color

    • Paragraph - bullets, numbering, alignment, line, and paragraph spacing

    • Styles - headings, titles, subtitles

Add pictures, online pictures, and tables

  1. Select the Insert tab.

  2. Select what you want to insert:

    • Pictures - select Pictures, browse for the picture you want, and select Open.

    • Online Pictures - select Online Pictures, select a stock photo or search for one you want on Bing, and select Insert.

    • Tables - select Table and then select the table size you want.

Check spelling

Word Online automatically checks spelling and misspelled words have a red squiggly underline.

  1. Right-click the word and review the suggestions.

  2. Select a correction, or select Ignore All.

Change page layout

  1. Select the Page Layout.

  2. Select an option:

    • Page Setup - margins, orientation, size

    • Paragraph - indent, spacing

Add a link

  1. Select some text.

  2. Select Insert > Link.

  3. In Display Text, type the text you want to display.

  4. Enter the URL under Address.

  5. Select Insert.
