When you want to highlight key connections in your diagram, arrow styles, colors, and heavier lines can make connectors stand out.

To change the look of a connector in a hurry,

I start by selecting it.

Then, I go to Home, select Quick Styles, and choose a pre-designed connector style I like.

But sometimes I want to apply my own formatting to a connector.

I start by selecting the More arrow in the Shape Styles group to display all my options at once.

Next, I select a connector,

And select Line.

From the line options, I select:

Color to make the line a different color,

Width to make the line thinner or heavier,

and Begin Arrow type or End Arrow type to change the look of the line endpoints.

As I make changes, I see them in my diagram.

Whether you apply a quick style or custom formatting, you’ll find lots of ways to highlight key connectors in your diagrams.
