Live event attendees can view live and on-demand captions in up to six languages in addition to the spoken language.

Organizers: set up live captions
To set up live captions for your event, select the quick start production method during scheduling and check the Captions box.
Use the Translate to menu to add up to six languages attendees can choose for the captions in addition to the spoken language. For example, if the spoken language is English, but you know there’s an office in the Netherlands tuning in, select Dutch (Netherlands) so they can get captions in their native language.
Supported spoken languages for this feature include English, German, and Chinese.
If the Captions check box isn’t available, contact your IT admin to turn this feature on.
Get the most out of your captions
Speak clearly, slowly, and directly into the mic.
Avoid having multiple people speaking at the same time.
Use the highest quality equipment available to you.
Curse words will be starred out.
Download the transcript
After the live event has finished, click Meetings in Teams and look up the live event. Under Live event resources, you’ll find Transcript. Click the down arrow to download it.
For best results, open the file with Microsoft Word.
Attendees: use live captions
To turn on live captions, click Subtitles On in the lower right corner.
To change the caption language, click Settings > Captions / Subtitles, and select the language you want.
Note: The available languages are set by the live event organizer.
