Turn Microsoft Bookings On or Off for your Organization

The Office 365 admin center now lets you control whether Microsoft Bookings for your organization to use. You can also choose to allow or deny individual users in our organization access to Bookings.


  • Bookings is turned on by default for customers who have the Office 365 Business Premium, or Office 365 A3 and Office 365 A5 subscriptions. Bookings is also available to customers who have Office 365 Enterprise E3 and E5, but it is turned off by default.   • The admin controls described in this article aren't available for Office 365 Operated by 21Vianet (China) customers.

Turn Bookings off for your entire organization

For Office 365 Business Premium, Bookings is already turned on. All you have to do is create and publish your first booking calendar. To turn it off, go to Office 365 Admin center > Settings > Services & add-ins > Bookings.

Turn Bookings off for your entire organization using Exchange Online PowerShell

If you don't have access to the Bookings setting in Office 365 admin center, you can turn off Bookings by running the following command in PowerShell.

Before you can do this procedure, you need to Connect to Exchange Online PowerShell.

Set-OrganizationConfig -BookingsEnabled $false

Turn Bookings off for individual users

For Office 365 Business Premium organizations, Bookings is already turned on for all users. This means that everyone in your organization can create, publish, and manage a Booking calendar.

To turn it off for a user, go to Office 365 Admin center > Users > select a user > Product licenses > expand the Office 365 Business Premium license > and then turn the toggle On or Off.

Require staff approvals

Office 365 admins now have the ability to require that employees in their organization opt-in before their availability information is shared through Bookings and before they can be bookable through a booking page. When an admin chooses to make this a requirement, by clicking the appropriate toggle in the Office 365 Admin Center, employees added as staff in booking calendars will find an Approve/Reject link in the email notification they receive (which is described above). From the Admin portal go to Settings/Services & add-ins/Bookings

Block social sharing options

More control over how booking pages are shared. Admins can now control whether, or not, their users can see social sharing options inside Bookings. From the Admin portal go to Settings/Services & add-ins/Bookings
