Each team has a corresponding SharePoint site. Changes made to files in SharePoint automatically sync to Teams (and vice versa), but if you want to make sure you have the very latest version of a file, you can manually sync the file libraries.

Synching in a channel

At the top of your channel, select Files > Sync. The sync will take a moment, but will ensure that your Teams team and the associated SharePoint site are up-to-date.

Likewise, you can select Sync in SharePoint to make sure you have any updates from Teams.

Reverting a deleted, renamed, or unsynched folder

If the SharePoint folder associated with the channel was deleted, renamed, or hasn't been synced you can revert a renamed folder or sync a folder following these steps:

  1. Go to the channel, and select Files More actions  Microsoft Teams more options icon   > Open in SharePoint.

  2. In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Open the details pane  Circle i Info button > More details.

  3. Under Activity, locate the original folder name, and then rename the folder using the original name.

  4. To sync a folder, go to the channel's Files tab. Select Sync.
