You can enable text wrapping for a number of controls in Microsoft Office InfoPath, including text boxes, rich text boxes, and expression boxes. When text wrapping is enabled for a control, text will automatically wrap inside that control when users type into it. If text wrapping is disabled, any text that exceeds the width of the control will be hidden. You can also change the way that text wraps around picture controls on the form template.

Change text wrapping for a picture control

After you insert a picture control on a form template, you can use wrapping styles to modify the layout of text in relation to the picture control. By default, InfoPath uses the In line with text style, which insets the picture control in the text at the location of the insertion point. The picture control moves when you add or delete text. The text does not wrap around the picture control, and white space extends to the margins on either side of the picture control.

  1. Right-click the picture control that you want to format, and then click Picture Properties on the shortcut menu.

  2. Click the Position tab.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To position the picture so that text appears on either side of it, click In line with text.

    • To position the picture on the left side of the form template, so that text wraps around its right side, click Left.

    • To position the picture on the right side of the form template, so that text wraps around its left side, click Right.
