Sign in to or out of Communicator for Mac

To use Communicator for Mac, you must have an account on a corporate network that uses Office Communications Server 2007. Typically, the network administrator for your organization configures Communicator for Mac for you.

Do any of the following:

Sign in

  1. Open Communicator.

  2. Do one of the following:


Do this

Sign in to the current account

Click Sign In.

Sign in to a different account

Click Sign in with a different account or change your online status.

  1. Type your e-mail address, user ID, and password.

    If the Use my network ID and password check box is available, you can select it to have Communicator try to retrieve your user ID and password from the network. Communicator uses the Kerberos protocol to locate your network ID and password.


    • If you did not set up your corporate account with the Setup Assistant, you can set it up at any time.

    • You can sign in to only one corporate account at a time. However, you can sign in to the same account on multiple computers.

Sign out

After you sign out, you cannot send or receive messages, and you appear offline to other people.

  • On the Network menu, click Sign Out.
