Show footer information on your slides

Footers are usually located at the bottom of your slides, and they can contain the date and time, slide numbers, and other text such as the presentation title or "Company Confidential".

Note: PowerPoint doesn't support headers on slides. However, you can add both a header and footer to your handouts or notes pages.

Here's how to add content to the slide footer:

  1. On the Insert tab, pick Header & Footer.

shows insert > header button in powerpoint

  2. On the Slide tab, check the Footer box.

  3. In the box below Footer, type the text that you want, such "Company Confidential".

  4. Check the Date and Time box to add that to your slides.

  5. Check the Slide number box to add that to your slides.

  6. To stop the footer from appearing on the title slide, check the Don't show on title slide box.

  7. Pick Apply to All or Apply (to just this slide).
