Share files outside your organization with Anyone links

Your browser does not support video. Install Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flash Player, or Internet Explorer 9.

To share files with your customers and work on documents together, use an Anyone link in Office 365.

  1. From your SharePoint site, select the folder you want to share, choose Share, and then click the link settings button.

  2. In the Link Settings window, make sure Anyone is selected. If this option is grayed out, it needs to be turned on in the SharePoint admin center.

  3. Optionally, select the Allow editing check box and enter an expiration date for the link.

  4. Choose Apply.

  5. In the Send Link window, enter your customer's email address, type a message, and choose Send.

  6. Your customer will receive an email with your message and a link to your files.

From your SharePoint site, go to the folder you want to share. Choose Share, and then the link settings button. Make sure Anyone is selected. If this option is grayed out, it needs to be turned on in the SharePoint admin center.

Choose whether or not to Allow editing, and set an expiration date for the link. Choose Apply.

Type the email address of the person you want to share files with and a message. Keep in mind anyone with this link can access these files.

Choose Send to finish.

Your customer will get an email with your personal message and a link to your files. When they select Open, they can access your shared files or upload their own.
